When you click the Narrative Intelligence icon while reading a news article, the extension reads the article's URL, headline, and body text, and sends it to our server at neuvianews.com for analysis. We use OpenAI's language models to extract the main entities and topics covered in the article, then compare the article's sentiment against a population-level media baseline we have built from thousands of sources.
The result is displayed in a drawer on the page showing you how the article's narrative compares to how the broader media covers the same topic.
We do not collect your name, email address, browsing history, passwords, financial information, or any data from pages you visit without clicking the extension icon.
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with any party other than OpenAI for the NLP processing step described below.
OpenAI — Article text is sent to OpenAI's API (gpt-4o-mini) to extract entities, topics, and sentiment. OpenAI processes this data under their Privacy Policy. We use the API in a way that does not allow OpenAI to use your data to train their models.
No other third parties receive your article data.
Article URLs and extracted entity-concept pairs are stored indefinitely in our database to build the media sentiment dataset that powers the service. Article body text is not stored — only the extracted entities, topics, and sentiment scores are retained.
Analysis results are cached in your browser's local extension storage for 24 hours, then expire automatically.
You can stop the extension from collecting any data at any time by disabling or uninstalling it from chrome://extensions. Since we do not collect personally identifiable information, we cannot link stored article records to individual users.
If you have questions about data associated with a specific article URL, contact us and we will remove it from our database.
We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
